We got the idea of having a website on Bush Safety from our camp at Patangata and from the documentary on channel 1 called Do Or Die, Lost In The Bush. The reason we decided to do bush safety was because at camp we learnt lots of different ways to survive if you were lost. We  learnt how to make bivvy's so if we were ever lost in the bush or forest and it got dark then we could make a shelter to sleep in for the night. The documentary  taught you how to cross a river although we learnt that at camp as well. While at Patangata  we went on a night trial and had to stay there until the salty rock people came back to collect us. The whole idea of the night trial was to get in the habit of staying in one place because if you get lost in the bush and you keep moving you make it harder for the Search And Rescue team to find you.
