Issue Prices

  • Either postcard unfranked / uncancelled: $1.00 each to ALL addresses. (Request must include a self-addressed European size envelope together with 33¢ USA postage for USA destinations / 60¢ USA postage for all other destinations).

  • Unfranked / uncancelled LC-130 envelope : $1.00 to ALL addresses. (Request must include a self-addressed US #10 envelope together with 33¢ USA postage for USA destinations / 60¢ USA postage for all other destinations).

  • Postcard or LC-130 cover sent from the Pole with any of 10 different cachets currently in use (no specific cancellation date) : $1.50 to USA addresses / $2.00 to other International addresses.

  • Byrd 70th Anniversary Flight cover / cancelled 29 NO 99 : $3.00 to USA addresses / $3.50 to other International addresses.

  • Either postcard cancelled w/dual cancellations 31 DE 99 / 01 JA 00 : $4.00 to USA addresses / $4.50 to International addresses.

  • Millennium Cover w/dual cancellations 31 DE 99 / 01 JA 00 (featuring the same LC-130 design): $5.00 to USA addresses / $5.50 to other International addresses.

Only US funds will be accepted for payment.

Please note that Scott will be leaving for the Antarctic at the end of September or first of October, 1999. He will also be wintering-over so no further requests should be sent to his mailing address in Denver, CO beyond the September 1 deadline. The final dispatch of mail will be sometime in February, 2000. Any philatelic requests for the South Pole after that date will not be serviced until the return of the aircraft at the beginning of the Antarctic summer in October, 2000.

All of the above items are in limited supply. Scott has approximately 800-900 of each postcard available. Less than 500 EACH of the Byrd Anniversary Flight and Millennium covers will be available for purchase. These will likely be the ONLY covers serviced in this manner at the South Pole on the Millennium date.
