White sapphires are found in Burma,
Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Afghanistan,
Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Africa, Pakistan, and the
United States. They are colourless, and are an
excellent stone to use instead of a diamond. They sparkle
brilliantly and are nearly as hard as a diamond. Large white
sapphires are rare. White sapphire is usually heat
treated to improve the colour and to improve the stone's
appearance. Find out more
