Everyone who travels needs to have a passport. This is a little booklet that says who you are, and when and where you are born.

To have a New Zealand passport, you must be born in New Zealand, or have become a New Zealand citizen.

Inside your passport you have stamps and visas to show where you have been or where you are going to. You must also have a photo inside, so customs officials can tell if it is really your passport.
