The only materials you will need to go over any of the following knots are:
1. Two lengths of rope about a metre or two metres long.
2. A piece of wood about 2cm in diameter and about 50cm long.
In tying the knots remember to work the rope in the direction it appears to be going in the picture. You need to have a clear idea of where the knot is going and what is should look like.
BE PATIENT. Pull the ends until you see how it takes shape. Repeat the steps as much as your sanity will handle. We know it can get frustrating. Practising your knots on a rainy day will pass the time and you will get better at it!
NOTE: it is important to remember that security is far more important than strength in most knot applications.
