Radiation is when light energy or heat energy travels through space or through the air.

We can feel the radiation from the sun when we stand in the sun and feel the warmth on our skin. This energy has travelled all the way from the sun, through space, to us standing on planet Earth.

We can feel the radiation of heat from a heater or fire when we stand in front of it. The energy is travelling through the air to get to our body. Can you bounce this heat energy around? Does everything soak up the same amount of heat? Or does it matter what colour things are?
