In Manukau City there are two inorganic collections a year. This is a time you can put out things like old furniture and appliances on the pavement, and the rubbish collectors will take them away.

 

The things people put out are often recycled, because other people look at the pile and think, "I could use that", and they take it away. Look at what this artist made with other people's rubbish.

Now we also have a green recycling bin which we can put on the pavement every week with things that can be recycled by the council.
