What it looked
like
The Hadrosaurus was one of the first
complete dinosaur skeletons found in the world. It stood on two
strong back legs, and had a long stiff tail. The head had a shape
rather like a duck bill, and had a rounded hump in front of the eyes
and above the nostrils. From fossil skin impressions we know that
their hands were webbed. It is called the duck-billed
dinosaur.
What it
ate
The Hadrosaurus was a herbivore, which
means that it ate plants. Even though it lived near water, most of
the plants were on land.
How it moved
around
It walked like a duck, had
a beak like a duck, webbed feet like a duck, and a pelvis like a
duck.
How it probably
behaved
Hadrosaurids spent most of
their time on land. They stayed close to bodies of water, feeding on
tough terrestrial plants. The discovery of their nests and their
young show that they moved to higher ground to lay their
eggs.
