RIDDLES THE HOBBIT HOMES THE MOVIE ART MIDDLE EARTH |
The story of the book Bilbo Baggins is a respectable hobbit, who has no taste for adventures, dear me, no! But then a group of dwarves descend on his quiet home of Bag End and insist he's just the hobbit to be their burglar on a mission of high adventure! It takes Gandalf, a great and mysterious wizard to convince Bilbo to accompany the dwarves. So the band sets out to recover the treasure of the dwarves, stolen by the terrible dragon Smaug. Bilbo's plan is to be the most careful and best fed adventurer/burglar in Middle Earth but the adventures come fast and furious and he soon finds himself doing things he'd never have dreamt of before. |
What do hobbits look like? Ah, these Hobbit feet! Hobbit feet were typically hairy and thick skinned and they are quite a trademark for this race. Few used shoes since they had little use for them. Hobbits had long and nimble fingers. They could make many useful and comely things. However, they had no interest for making magical things or complicated machinery. Hobbits are good-natured rather than beautiful. Broad, bright-eyed, red-cheeked with mouths that love to laugh. They are fond of simple jokes at all times. |
What do the hobbits in the Lord of the Rings movie look like? Here is a photo from the movie of some of the hobbits. Do they look the way you would expect them to from the story? Make sure you check out their feet! |
Bad habits!
Hobbits enjoyed smoking their Pipe-weed, as they called their tobacco. It seems it was almost made to an Art sometimes. Take Gandalf who several times demonstrated impressive skills when it came to making "effects" with pipe smoke. In fact, I suspect he put a little magic to it.
