Because so many people work and live in this area, we have motorways to move the traffic more quickly. Opposite Manukau City, you can get on the motorway to go north to Auckland, or south to the rest of the North Island. In the olden days before the motorway was built, you drove on the Great South Road to get down to Hamilton, or in to Auckland. |
