Konnichiwa Room 5, here is my last
email from Japan. The last few days have been
difficult to get out and take photos as it has been raining
a lot because of "Rainy Season". I am so glad that we don't
have rainy season in New Zealand although we do have a lot
of rain sometimes at least it is not 30 degrees. My final photos I took on top of a
mountain in Kochi City named Godaisan. I all the photos turn
out really well so that you can get a good idea of what
Japan looks like. It has been a sad time for many JETs
lately as it is the time that they leave to go back to their
home countries. They are allowed to stay here for a maximum
of three years and then they must leave. If they stay longer
they have to apply again but they can not work as JETs.
There are four NZers leaving this
year and Mr and Mrs Luke were good friends with them. Two of
them are going to England and will work there for a couple
of years. The other two are in NZ now but are coming back to
Japan to live in Kobe for a little while and work there.
There are five brand new NZers coming to replace them but
most of them are out in the countryside called the
"Inaka". Mrs Luke is going to send me home
via post with some Japanese magazines and some letters
written to you from students here in Japan. We tried to get
a small kimono to put in but we couldn't find anything.
Sorry about that. So, when you read this email I
should already be in NZ and back with Miss Adams. See you
all in Term Three. Sayonara, Eddie .
