There are still lots of Kea (Mountain Parrots) around. They are very noisy, and very smart and sociable. They sit on cars and pull out the rubber around windows and get up to all sorts of trouble. They have very strong beaks! It is very important NOT to feed kea. Their proper food is berries and grubs, and it is dangerous to let them rely on human food. It also encourages them to hang around and get into trouble. It is a wild bird, and should be left alone in its natural environment.
