You must be wondering how the ancient Greeks had fun. Ancient Greece wasn't only farming and making laws. People enjoyed entertainment then just like we do today, and music was a form of Greek entertainment and continues to be part of our entertainment today.
Not much is known about the music of ancient Greece. We do not know what their music sounded like, but we know from vase paintings that they played harps, pipes, and other hand-made instruments. Music was often used in theaters and went along with dance performances. Dancers used tambourines, rattling and shaking them to create their own dance rhythm. Musicians also learned to play a kithara, which was a very early kind of guitar.
